Need Help Placing Jonathan Prather in Kentucky on or before 1791. The source needs to be documented. Source needed to prove his residency before Kentucky became a state on Friday, June 01, 1792

Jonathan Prather, born in 1757 Halifax county, Va. Died in Floyd County, Ky. He is the son of Thomas Prather I (Prather-351) and Josie (Allen-5135) Prather. Jonathan is a brother of Archibald Prather one of the early settlers of Salyersville, Kentucky, one of the settlers of Prater's Fort or Licking Station. Was Jonathan Prather among the group of early settlers?

Any documented proof will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Kyhistory.com now has digitised copies of historical periodicals available to search. They start about 1960 and are full of info.

Marion, thank you for the Kyhistory.com information, I will look into it. However, if they start in the 1960's that may not cover the 1700's
