Are requests to access trusted listed accepted automatically after a period of time?

Hi,

I had a request from a wikitree member to be on the trusted list for my own profile ages ago, I must have ignored it as I don't know the person IRL.

I just checked my requests today and it said it had been approved in September, and I don't think that I clicked anything to make that happen. (Edit: I just checked and I'm pretty sure I didn't even have internet access on the date it says it happened)

I don't have anything on there I'm worried about, but I'd like to know why it happened

Thanks

No, there's no automatic Trusted List approval.  The other party must have done an Unresponsive Manager or something similar to get that approval.

.

There is something all kinds of wrong with that, where it's a living person who is an active member.

I don't disagree, but we don't know all the details.  I would hope the other person had a darn good story to get on the TL for a living member.  The good news is AC is still her own PM, and can remove anyone she chooses from her TL.

Lesson:  Pay attention!
I think they sent the request by accident as we are from the same area and I recognise some of the profiles they are working on - so nothing creepy on their end

At least that's something.

It doesn't explain the adding to trust list if you didn't actively do it.

I can't even find any old emails in relation to it, and at about that time I was on a work trip so I would have only been doing very basic things.

Perhaps trusted list requests should be separate for active members and ancestor profiles - just in case

I would agree with that.

Hi A. C., what was the date of the request and the date of the approval? They shouldn't have been added to your Trusted List without your approval.

I’m not sure if I accidentally clicked something or not - but if I did it shouldn’t  be that easy if I did
