Then John Hiram Blackstone doesn’t have any information listed living 1850

Just an FYI that “allotted to Thomas Dawson”  on the census just means that a person lived in the area assigned to that census taker.  Census places are divided into districts, with a different census taker for each one.  U.S. marshals were the census takers until 1880, so Thomas Dawson must have been a local marshal.

Yes Thomas Dawson I seen his name and questioned information about him after researching who he was now they was a man named Benjamin on the other census says up top allotted to Benjamin, the only two census I have for my John Hiram Blackstone is 1830 and 1840 I would Thank he would be with his parents on the 1820 census but can’t fugue out what Blackstone would be correct, I have ask on many family groups on Facebook and have ask probably 50 people here on wikitree over the past 3 years of being part of wikitree, I was told earlier to check with Columbia archives but I probably will never get a chance to go to Columbia, SC, I was hoping and Praying one day someone see this information and thank about me and my John Hiram Blackstone 1812-1850 and could help.

Back to Thomas Dawson and his history do you thank that the list of people he was allotted to was working with him in his line of work and was they a War around this time of John Hiram Blackstone’s disappearance now J.H.Blackston, John Hiran Blackstone, John Hiram Blackstone, have seen Hiram spelled Hyrum, Blackston or Blackstone spelled Blaxton so many different ways to spell his name.

Thomas Dawson was clearly a local man, he was appointed Postmaster at Martins Creek, Pickens, S.C. in 1840.  I doubt that he has any connection to your John Hiram Blackstone other than living in the same vicinity.

Yes he was first in Hiwassee, Georgia then moved on into Pendelton District, SC he was appointed by James Monroe to teach natives also.

Do you see if John Hiram Blackstone was from South Carolina?

Mr. Dawson arrived on the Hiwassee River in February 1819 and was engaged in teaching for 3 or 4 years. In 1823 he left Hiwassee and move to the Pendleton Dist in South Carolina, near Perkins Creek Baptist Church. He was ordained a minister in 1824 and preached not only at Perkin's Baptist Church, but throughout the Pendleton District. He afterwards bought a plantation on Martin's Creek, now known as Harper's tanyard place. This maybe some clues of the area my John Hiram Blackstone lived.

It’s funny I can find information about everybody else’s family but John Hiram Blackstone just shows up 1830 with no connection with any other Blackstone family makes you thank he was not John Hiram Blackstone and the name was just appointed to him by the appointed Thomas Dawson did they name natives white names so they could stay during the Indian removal acts if so Blackstone may have not been my Great Great Great Grandfathers name I don’t see his wife’s maiden name anywhere and no death certificates of children, now I have a picture of the Blackstone family 1913 this is two generations from 1812. they don’t look like Natives like in the moves or the ones in Cherokee, NC but don’t look like regular white folks, how can we tell where people in 1830 in the Pendelton District of South Carolina was from.. this picture I talk of I have is on the profile of Wade Hampton Blackstone 1875-1966 or maybe on John Hiram Blackstone 1838-1913 the picture was took the day they buried John Hiram Blackstone jr 1838-1913

I looked at what I could I would say they married 1830 because they didn’t have children on 1830 census they was only 15-19 that’s why I say he was born 1812 now on the 1840 census his wife is in a different age range 30-39 and he is 20-29 I believe John Hiram Blackstone 1812 and wife Mary was about 1810 you know how these census is they aren’t always correct ages listed now first child I have was Thomas born 1833 then two daughters then my John Hiram Blackstone 1838-1913

There’s nothing to suggest a Native American connection for Hiram.  He and his wife and family are all listed as white on the 1830 and 1840 censuses.  The Cherokee and other natives were pushed out of South Carolina before the Revolutionary War.   Hiram probably doesn’t appear earlier because he wasn’t old enough or was not living on his own.  He may have been living with his mother and a stepfather so no Blackstone on the 1820 census.  I would look for court records.  I’m always amazed at how much time people spent in court - they always seem to be complaining about neighbors, or their animals, or land boundaries, or serving on juries and the like.

Ok they was a possibility that a lady named Judith Blackstone living close to him and a Mary on one census and then a Thomas Blackstone that was in the War of 1812-15 so his parents maybe this Thomas Blackstone and Judith Blackstone but then that is another dead end Thomas is on the 1810 census Pendelton District and Mary I believe was on 1820 census and then 1840 census has Judith Blackstone and Judith is also the name of a Sister to John Hiram Blackstone 1838-1913 so they may have named her after a grandmother, I know I’m rambling on about this family but all these are hints  / notes, with this line everything we add helps, when I ever make it to the library I hope I can sign on to my wikitree account and look my notes over.  Thanks for helping on my family everything is like a blessing finding out the correct answers to things I assume about the family is a step closer to things I need to research

John Hiram Blackstone 1812-1850 named his first son Thomas Blackstone he was born 1833 so this John Hiram Blackstone 1812-1850 may have named a son and a daughter after his parents, That is if this above listing Thomas Blackstone born going by census abt. 1771? was in the War 1812 and Judith born between 1771/1780 is his parents..

if all this is true that still doesn’t tell me who these Blackstone men’s wife’s (my grandmothers) maiden names was or who Thomas Blackstone’s (1771-1814?) died before 1820 in war assumed parents was

7 ,listed with a Mary Blackston,age 50 ,If his mother, would been abt 43

when he was born.Women had large families in that era.When i was abt

10 had a neighber she had 14 children,her last born when she was 52.

Yes I’m sure this is my line, Mary Blackstone on this record was my Great Great Great Grandmother she became the head of house 1850 her husband J.H.Blackstone, John H. Blackstone or John Hiram Blackstone must have died before 1850 they had a son named John Hiram Blackstone 1838-1913 this is my line but I can’t find Mary Blackstone’s maiden name or her husband John Hiram Blackstone’s Parents, I’m guessing here on wikitree.

Still trying to fugue these Blackstone’s out on the 1810 census it says son under ten I’m looking for Thomas Blackstone that would have had more then one son from Information that has been said for many years is that Richard Blackstone born 1794/1800 and John Hiram Blackstone (1805/1808 that was on the 1830/40 census living close to one another in Pickens County is brothers and that on one of these census Judith Blackstone age about 60 is the mother of these boys and the only male Blackstone in the area was a Thomas Blackstone in the 1810 census Pendleton District or Pickens County District
