In case you're asking how to actually type the name ... install the US International keyboard on your PC. Then you can do stuff like this:

I do most of my work on a Mac, and typing option-u and the vowel gets you the umlauts, that all I need for my German ancestors.  (I haven't run into the eszett in a name so far).
