William C. Green born abt. 1852-? Need help with resources

William C. Green was born about 1852 in Canada per 1860 census. We know for certain he married Evalina Barrett June 7, 1893 in Bombay, Franklin County, New York. His wife Evalina Barrett had one daughter Lottie Pearl Green (Barrett) Gibbs. She was adopted by her mother’s parents Norman and Charlotte Barrett when her mother died tragically September 2, 1897 and buried in Moira, Franklin county, New York. We would like to have a copy of the marriage record for William C. Green and Eva Barrett. We need something more than a census to show his parental lineage. Any help would be appreciated as we don’t have a date of death or location. He was probably born in England as his siblings. We believe his parents to be Elizabeth Hill and William Watson Green. When William Watson Green died on voyage with his wife to America he was buried at sea. His wife remarried James Willis and they had 4 boys who are William C. Green’s Step brothers.

Check the images for the 18x5 census, which includes county if born in New York.

There should be a marriage record available from New York Vital Records, for $22 if you know the year. You might also be able to get it from the town (assuming that the building didn’t collapse from snow on the roof like the town where my grandparents married!)

They appear in the marriage Index on Ancestry

New York State Department of Health; Albany, NY, USA; New York State Marriage Index

William Green is tough. Searching Charlotte barrett you can find her obituary, Norman’s obituary and their daughters obituary

Thank you Kay

We are going to try and get the copy and order it ASAP!
Yes we have Norman and Charlotte Barrett’s obituary. Which daughter’s obituary are you referring to? If it’s Evalina (Barrett) Green’s it’s vital we have it. Thank you
We’re trying to get the records. This helps. Thank you
