Discerning different Bennetts in Kensington, Philadelphia, PA

Question

Researching my husband's family. They were generally northern Irish laborers in the Kensington area of Philadelphia in the 1850-1940s. Turns out there are lots of Bennetts in Kensington around this time period and I'm having a hard time figure out who is ours. I get to great grandfather John Edward Bennet (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bennett-20406) and things get murky. The David Bennett that I keep finding for his father seems to have been a brickmaker, which would have been a decent trade. But it seems our ancestor wasn't which makes me think perhaps I can't find the right David Bennett. I've been trying to triangulate with spouses and I'm going around in circles. I need to get up to Philadelphia and search the archives myself but I'd love any advice and ideas!

Does anyone know of any historical references to the Bennetts of Kensington? Sifting through censuses there seem to be several families in the area at that time which was relatively small. I'm not sure if they're related but those who came from Northern Ireland are probably related.
