Seems like everyone gets hacked sooner or later ... used to be all cables and they sometimes broke or some such then they got the towers and beams and I have no idea what the excuses were then and towers fell or got burned and what came after that oh, satellites ... which were used as targets I heard by some other nation (might have been sheer rumor) ... and so while technology continues to "advance" (or so we are told) the level of user friendly results stays the same or diminishes
Since OATH bought up AOL and I think Verizon and another one or two of like nature things have been more difficult with AOL. I've been with it since 1997 and it did "crash" still does but since 2000 or so there's been no satisfaction from Customer Service, IF you can figure out how to get them -- having dealt with the outsourced customer service, think it was in India or Pakistan, and what THAT led to ...but that was in the early 2000's .. sigh.
And since OATH took over I can't even find Customer Service.
ANYWAY, for the nonce, it's back and operational for email, and how long THAT will last is unknown.
I took the precaution this time of writing down pencil and paper every email I have that I want to stay in contact with (relatives etc) JUST IN CASE I have to resort to one finger (fat finger) keyboard on the kindle again ... and considering all that is involved in profiling, I can't do it on a kindle reader, since on the notebook I use multiple tabs as "windows" which are not available on the kindle (I think) -- and the print is so small on the screen I have to use a magnifier ... boy this is like trying to wade through a midden
Although of course how I would RETRIEVE any email FROM AOL to read would still be up in the air ... because when the email "goes kerplunk" I can't send OR retrieve and even with the kindle I could not retrieve it ...
Situation could be worse (even more difficult or even impossible) I know that from experience ...
