What is Nancy Francisco's maiden name?

I have spent the better part of three months researching the profile of Nancy (Unknown) Francisco and I am unable to find a marriage record for her or any other record that pre-dates her marriage to John Francisco.  In some years past, an unsourced tree on Ancestry linked Nancy Francisco to the record of Nancy Hasty and ever since, Nancy Francisco and Nancy Hasty have been conflated.  Nancy Hasty later married George Washington Carter and thus became Nancy (Hasty) Carter.  Ever since the incorrect linking, many unsourced online trees have attributed the surname Hasty to Nancy Francisco.

Nancy (Unknown) Francisco and Nancy (Hasty) Carter do share some similarities: Nancy Carter was born 1803 in North Carolina, and Nancy Francisco was born about 1802 or 1803 in Georgia or North Carolina.  But aside from the unsourced attribution of Nancy Francisco as a Hasty, there is absolutely no evidence that can be found that even suggests that Nancy Francisco's maiden name is Hasty.

Many of the online trees for the Francisco family are incorrect, conflated, and unsourced.  In searching for source documents, I have scoured the Bedford, Hawkins, and Montgomery, Tennessee County records and there are none other for John or Nancy except for the 1840, 1850, and 1860 census records.  These records all show only Nancy's married name: Francisco.

I spent the last two days documenting into her profile what is known through records and can be verified without speculation or unsourced tree.  I have expanded her biography (everything above the research notes + the sources) to include what can be proven on paper and included linked sources.

I am now opening this forum and also asking for help and if anyone can find Nancy's maiden name, it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Both the 1850 and 1860 census are linked in the profile's sources.  I did also notice that John Jr. went missing around the age of 16.  Perhaps he died early or married and moved out.

I'm not sure the 1870 census record is a match but I appreciate the effort.

John married Minerva approximately when he was 19.

Good catch Betty!  I see that on his census page there are links to the 1850 census, 1880, 1900, and daughter's wedding in Alabama.  The daughter is named Nancy Ann Francisco no doubt married after John Jr.'s mother.  I'll create a profile for him on Friday for the Connect-a-Thon.  That is, if Kathy doesn't do it before then cheeky

Sorry!  I created one, but don't remember which.  It's my habit to make the edit (as easy as to write it up here).
Oh Kathy, it is my habit too!  It is not easy to leave so many pairs of shoes with untied laces, is it?  My scratchpad has a long list to be righted come the weekend...

A bit off topic, but you may find this helpful when researching the Francisco, Sisco or Cisco surname:

http://franciscofamily.wikifoundry.com/

I live in an area of south Meigs County, Tennessee, where the Francisco name has been prominent for years.  There is a Francisco Road not far from me.  I had no luck in finding a grave for Nancy Francisco in Tennessee.  However, I found George Francisco's grave in the Francisco Cemetery here in Meigs County on the Find A Grave web site Memorial ID 61278962.  There is quite a bit of family genealogy on his page.  The John you have listed that was born in 1801 it listed as the oldest child born in April 8,1802 and married Amanda Hagood 1795 in Hawkins County, VA.  I think that Virginia is an error because their first child James was born in 1796 in Hawkins County, Tennessee.

I'll take a look, but have you checked death records for her husband (less likely) and children?  Or children's marriage records?

Remember also that Nancy is often a diminutive of Ann(e).

And if from Scottish stock Nancy is often used for Agnes.
That I didn't know!
I've searched for 3 months running every name variation of Francisco that I can think of to include blanket searches for the entire state of Tennessee.  Additionally, I have done horizontal searches for the in-laws and even the neighbors on the census pages.  I appreciate the suggestion of Anne and Agnes but I didn't see any matches when going page by page for Francisco/Francesco/Cisco etc.

I added death records for two of her grandchildren (also created profile for grandson and orphaned it for you), but found nothing to indicate maiden name on Family Search.

Interestingly, Sarah's name on her son's record is Sarah E(dlin) Cisco.  Probably indicating the informant didn't know grandparents and calling forth a distant memory.
