Cannot seem to drop the x after this name - met maddening

Look - his name at birth was Virstuik not Verstuk - this one shpoul;d not have Verstuk in here.  It was his son who dropped the it not him!.  This mans other relatives retained this name!

You need to edit his last name of birth to remove the period in his name

Since this man's name was Virstuik for his whole life, I moved the "Verstuk" name out of the "Current Last Name" field and put it in "Other Last Names." That Other Last Names field is most commonly used for names that a person actually used, but it also is useful for recording names that are known to have been mistakenly applied to the person (for example, names that later generations of the family used, as in this situation).

Unless his last name actually had a full stop (or period) at the end, you might want to edit his Last Name at Birth to change the last name from Virstuik. to Virstuik
