If we fear becoming incapacitated, too ill, etc., to use it?

Patricia, I want to THANK YOU for all you have done and are doing on WikiTree.  I research in Monongalia and Marion Counties in West Virginia.  Your profile on Prickett's Fort is an amazing resource for the frontier history. I visited the area in 2006 at a Robe family reunion and hope to return.

I recently added an advance directive to my profile to turn over the profiles that I manage to the WikiTree team.  I have ended up with a fair number of the living that I would not want to see deleted.

Thank you Patricia for bringing this eventual reality to our attention on the Forum. We should all make provisions to take care of all of the hours of work we invest in our ancestor's lives.

When doing the advance directive, we can designate a family member but they will need to join WikiTree if not already a member. One thought I have had is to designate one family member for my maternal side and another family member for my paternal side. My fall-back will be to designate the WikiTree team.

I hope this post inspires others to take steps to care for their ancestor profiles.
