Biography

Mary was born on 29 Mar 1794 in Stokes County, North Carolina[1][2] to Johann Heinrich and Mary Magdalena (Fulk) Arney.[3]

She married Caleb Primm on 15 July 1814 in Surry County, North Carolina.[4][5]

In 1820, the census shows Caleb Primm (transcribed as "Paleb") and his family living in Capt John G Poindexters District, Surry, North Carolina, [6] where they continue to be shown in 1830 and 1840.[7][8] Polly's father and mother relocated to Owen County, Indiana sometime around 1820, but apparently Polly and her husband remained in North Carolina.

In 1850, Polly and Caleb are still found in Surry County, North Carolina. This census shows four of their children, as well -- Mary, Isaac, Lewis and Alfred.[9]

She died on 4 Jun 1898 in North Carolina and is buried in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Boonville, North Carolina.[1]

Research Notes

  • Record from the Moravian Archives which cites the Bethania and Bethabara Church Registers does not include mention of Mary Margaret as a child for Henry and Mary. I've set that relationship status to "uncertain" until more research can be done. -- Fiscus-32 17:12, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
