Biography

The name of the wife of Hubert de Vaux, and mother of his heiress Maud, is Aline (LNAB UNKNOWN). [1][2] Aline is not the daughter of Hawise de Lanvallay and John de Burgh. Her parents are Unknown. [3]
Maud de Vaux's mother, Aline de Vaux, had dower rights in the manor of Denham, Suffolk. [4]
Though the evidence cited by modern genealogists is clear, it is commonly stated that Maud's mother, the widow of her father, also had the name Maud. This derives from William Dugdale's Baronage, a respected 17th century work which sometimes used documents that no longer exist.[5] He claimed to have seen a charter from the 37th year of Henry III (28 Oct 1252 - 27 Oct 1253) which also mentioned that she remarried William Everard, and that her dowry lands were in Somerset and Devon.[6] Whatever that charter referred to though, it does not imply any connection to the Burgh family, a connection only apparently proposed on the internet. Possibly it is intended to explain how Thomas's son, also called Thomas, inherited Burgh, but this is explained by the Multon's Morville ancestry.[7]

Ferguson gives Aline/Maud and Thomas two sons, Thomas and Hubert. Thomas, the heir, died 21 Edward I (1293).[8]

Have delinked from parents. I believe the LNAB also needs to be changed, but I think Katherine needs to do that? I guess it has to be UNKNOWN?

Any opposition to going ahead with the disconnect as proposed last month? (This chronologically impossible relationship plays havoc with the relationship finder for William de Lanvalay.)

Aline should not be connected as daughter to John de Burgh and Hawise de Lanvallei, unless there is a source. All I can find so far shows she is not their daughter. Please remove connection or post a source?
Older than mother! Does not appear a daughter of her parents in Richardson. Maybe from another generation of Vaux?
