"Peter, early in life, became a resident of Morristown, N. J., where he acquired property, and where some, if not all, of his children were born. At the formation of the First Presbyterian church in Morristown, in 1741, he and his wife were among its first communicants, and continued to be steadfast supporters of the organization until their death. Some of the descendants of Peter filled honorable places in the early political history of the country, while others attained to positions of eminence in the professions."[1]
Today all known members of the overall Condit family who perpetuate the Condict spelling, somewhat less than 5%, are descendants of Peter Cundict, second grandson of the Ancestor. Most bearing the surname Condict, when they left Morris or Essex County, New Jersey, had dropped the second "c" from their name within a couple of generations.[2]

Duplicates are two or more profiles that represent the same person.
WikiTree's mission is to create a single family tree, with one profile for every person. Having two profiles for one person works against this aim.
This is so important that Point I of our Honor Code reads: "We collaborate. When we share ancestors we work together on the same ancestor profiles."
