Research Notes
Joan has previously been shown on WikiTree as daughter of Piers FitzHerbert. There is no evidence for this, and she has been detached. Joan may have become attached to Piers FitzHerbert through the profile of Isabell de Braose being incorrectly attached as his wife. This blog mentions a Joan (Joanna), Sir Nicholas Verdun (and wife Clementia), and the de Braose family.
There appears to be no good evidence that Nicholas de Verdun had a wife with LNAB FitzPiers.
A tree uploaded to Rootsweb by Jim Weber shows a Joan FitzPiers as daughter of Piers FitzHerbert and wife of Nicholas de Verdun but gives no sources.[1]
In the absence of good source information, there may be question marks about Joan's existence.

I have removed Piers FitzHerbert as father and added a research note. There also appears to be no evidence that Nicholas de Verdun married a daughter LNAB FitzPiers or anyone with first name Joan. I have asked a question in G2G.

Jim Weber shows her as Pier's daughter by an unknown mistress or wife... I detached her mother. Perhaps a G2G post would help to figure out her father.

Joan is probably attached to the wrong parents, Piers' children were: Herbert, Reginald and Lucy. Joan was born before her listed mother, as noted by Harry Kelly, below.
