Biography

Christina was born about 1835. She was the daughter of Archibald Fleming and Jean Brown. In 1841, at age 6, Christina is living with her parents, and sister Isabella age 2, at Ballgreen, In Avondale, Lanarkshire. In 1851, at age 16, Christina was living in Todshill, Strathaven with her mother and younger siblings. She was a Cotton Handloom Weaver. In 1861, Christina and Thomas are living at 189 Cambusnethan Street, Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire. In 1871, Christina and Thomas are living in Smith Row, Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, and they have children - Jean age 9, John age 7, Janet age 4, Thomas age 2, and Andrew 5 months. In 1881, Christina and Thomas are living at Pillans Land, Cambusnethan, and Thomas is still a Blacksmith. Their children are John age 17, Janet age 14, Andrew age 10, Christina age 8 and Joseph age 2. In 1891, Christina and Thomas are living at 37 Brown Street, Cambusnethan, and Thomas is still a Blacksmith. Their children are Andrew age 20, Christina age 18 and Joseph age 13. In 1901, Christina and Thomas are still at 37 Brown street, and Thomas is still a Blacksmith. Their child Joseph age 22 is living with them. She passed away in 1910, at her home in 37 Brown Street, and the informant was her son John Leggate of 35 Brown Street, Newmains.
