Biography

He preferred to use the spelling Guilkey for his last name.

William was a child living in the household of his parents William and Harriet Gilkey in the 1850 census for Greenup County, Kentucky. ^[1]

William age 9 was living with his older sister, Grace, in the household of their uncle C.S. Gilkey in the 1860 census for Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky. ^[2]

According to a newspaper announcement he married first Celestie C. (last name unknown) on 19 Jan 1876 and they were divorced in 1888.^[3]

His second wife was Anna Stack and they married about 1889.^[4]

He resided in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1880. ^[5]
