Biography

Jedediah (Jediah) Hussey was born on 2 Sep 1769 to parents John Hussey Jr. and Mary Jessup. [1]

He married Agatha Henley of Randolph County on 28 Jul 1794 in Back Creek, Randolph, North Carolina.

Minutes indicated Agatha Henley was from Randolph County.

The lineage from this Judiah back to the immigrant Christopher is confirmed by Descendants of Hunt, Woolman, Borton, Beals, Mills, Hussey, Jessup, Small, Chipman, Shields which is located in the Lilly Library, Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana.

The Genealogical Journal of the Randolph County Historical Society, Vol I, 2, 1977 indicates the 1799 List of Taxables included: Judiah Hussey, 800 acres.

Many family tree entries in Ancestry.com indicate Death: 31 Oct 1821 in Randolph, North Carolina. These entries correctly identify Jedediah's parents and spouse.

Hussey-1615 and Hussey-1380 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. First name Jedediah used in AGBI and US Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy. From Bible name Jedidiah, no Bible name Jediah. A few sources added.
