My Uncle Robert left his family to work in Texas. The story we were told was that he died of some type of poisoning. He and two friends were drinking a Coke, someone spiked the drinks. Robert died and the other two were very ill (actually they also died- see news story). At one time he did drank heavily. He died 6 years before his family were made aware. Robert's wife Wauline, my Aunt Annie, and two other women traveled to Texas to find out more information on his death. Then I found his death certificate in 2009 which told a similar story. Third Trusty Dies From Methyl Alcohol

HOUSTON (ap) - A third trusty at the Houston Police Department jail died Saturday after he drank a solvent containing methyl alcohol, authorities said.

He was John Robert Ellison, 51, of Houston, Archie Blalock, 49, and Robert C. Jones, 39, both of Houston, died Friday.

Officers said they believe the solvent was taken. Monday from the police station machine shop.^[5]
