This Thomas Lowe/Low is my 4th Great-Grandfather and my Y-DNA matches very close to a male cousin that is known to descend from one of the brothers of my 3rd Great-grandfather.

Also, I am fairly certain both Thomas and his wife Martha Patsy Guthre were born in Virginia because several of the brothers listed their parents on later census reports as being born there. Furthermore, I believe his father was Thomas Low sr. A Thomas Low sr moved to Lincoln Co, North Carolina about the same time as he and his family and lived nearby. Note on the name change - Thomas used Low in records and on his will. Some records of his 7 sons used Low but not long after his death in 1829 they all were using Lowe as their last name. I have never found a reason for this.

Lowe-768 and Lowe-643 appear to represent the same person because: same parents. child of same name. birthdates are close.
