Biography
Arthur Lunsford, age 22, and Madora Smith, age 17 were married on 12 Nov 1896 in Cherokee County, NC., by J.T. Hayes, JOP.
David Arthur Lunsford, age 61, died at his home in South Gastonia.
Surviving are his widow, Dora Smith Lunsford, 2 sons: J.L. (John Leonard) and Boyd Lunsford four daughters: Polly Lunsford, Hazel Lunsford, Mrs. Thad Dills (Addie), Mrs. Joe Smith (Rowan) Also 3 brothers; W. B. Lunsford (William) of Gastonia, M. B. Lunsford (Matthew) of Gastonia, Jim Lunsford (James) of Andrews three sisters; Mrs. John Phillips (Roxanna) of Murphy, Mrs. Mark Wilson (Polly) of Marble, Mrs. C.C. Smith (Emma Idella) of Marble.
Body will be shipped tomorrow to Marble . Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00. Thomas Truett, pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church will officiate assisted by Rev. J.F. Bailey of Bailey's Chapel in Cleveland Co. Burial will be at Moss Cem at Marble.
