Mrs. Minnie Martin Layton, 90, of Mendenhall, a housewife, died Monday, February 21, 1994 of Heart Failure at Magee General Hospital in Magee.

Services were Wednesday, February 23, 1994 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee with burial in New Home Cemetery in Mendenhall. Colonial Chapel of Magee handled the arrangements.

Mrs. Layton was a native of Simpson County and a member of New Home Church.

Survivors include: Four sons - Cordell Layton of Brandon, B. J. Layton and Travis Layton, both of Mendenhall, J.C. Layton of Terry; Four daughters - Ann Smith of Dallas, Texas, Bonnie Valentine of Mendenhall, Myrtis Arender of Brandon and Cecil Bynum of Star; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Layton was preceded in death by her husband Coy Layton and son Curtis Layton.
