William was born about 1811 or 1806, New York State. 1811 would agree with his age of 40 in the 1851 Census, but 1806 matches his age in later censuses. He was the son of Francis Pringle and Rue Dibble. He passed away in 1876. He was married to Mary Ann Dale, and they had two children.
They were probably divorced and William married (2nd) about 1844 to Sarah McCall, and they had 4 children (William, Philemon, Philester, and Eliza Naomi). He appears (with wife S. Prindle; that would be Sarah) in the 1851 Census of Oxford East, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. His birthplace is listed as USA, so he was apparently born in New York State like his sister Matilda.
This was clearly him in 1851, because Sarah Hatherly (daughter of William's sister Matilda (Pringle) Hatherly) was living with them. Even though Matilda was still alive, her children had apparently been sent to live with various relatives after her husband (John Hatherly) died. William and wife Sarah appear in the 1861 Census in Oxford County, Onario, Canada. By the time of the 1871 Census, Sarah had apparently died, but three of their children were still living with William.
He made his will on 13 October 1874, and he passed away in 1876.
