Biography
Sarah Spear was born in 1723 in Maine, daughter of Robert Spear (~1682–1763) and Mary Phinney ( –1771).
Sarah (16) married John Giveen (21) (born about 1718 in Coleraine, Londonderry, Ireland; son of David Giveen and Mary (Robinson) Giveen) in 1740. Their children were:
- Mary Given (1741–1815)[1]
- Sarah Given (1743–1808)[2]
- Martha Given (1745–1802)[3]
- Ann Given (1747–1792)
- Jean Given (~1749– )[4]
- Robert Giveen (1750–1810)[5]
- Arthur N. Given (1764–1842)
- William Given (~1766–1837)
Sarah died on April 7, 1809 in Brunswick, Cumberland, District of Maine, aged 85. She was buried in First Parish Cemetery, Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine.[6][7]
