Ralph was born in 1893 in Dixfield, Maine, the son of Greenleaf Walton and Eliza Bean. He married Lelia Althea Holman in Dixfield, on 25 Jul 915, a year after meeting her at a Fourth of July picnic and "cotillion" where he bought the box lunch that she had created. Ralph was exempt to serving in WWI due to a left leg injury that resulted in him using a cane.
They had five children: Althea, Earl (Bud), Marlowe Richard (Dick), Wesley and Delbert. They lived in East Dixfield, Maine where he assisted his father with the operation of the family apple farm.
He passed away of pneumonia on 21 Jan 1933 and is buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Dixfield, Maine.

Ralph E Walton
East Dixfield, Jan 23- Ralph E Walton, a life long resident of the town, died at 10:30 p.m., Jan. 21. He was forty years old. Nineteen years ago he married Miss Lelia Holman of Dixfield who survives him. He also leaves five children from 3 1/2 years to 15; one brother, M. L. Walton of East Dixfield; two sisters. Mrs. Ella Smith of East Dixfield and Mrs. Winnefred Adams of Dixfield, and several aunts and cousins.
The deceased was the youngest son of G. M. and Eliza (Bean) Walton who were many years residents of East Dixfield. Mr. Walton was a member of Mystic Valley Grange.
