Eva Cameron relates: "Dad began his career as a jeweller with uncle Alf in Kaikoura, he then shifted to the North Island and set up a business in Waverly, south of Patea. He had a watchmaker and jeweller business here up until about 1925. Mum and dad were married 1912, they had Harold in 1915, but he only lived a few hours. They next had Eva Elizabeth on the 29th September 1920. About 1926 Dad decided he had had enough of the indoor life and they bought a dairy farm and remained there until 1958. This year they both died. Mum was in declining health for some years with Arteriosclerosis, Dad had a heart attack and died in 24 hours. 1
