He resided in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts Westport. The house created by Benjamin Wing upon his farm in Westport was standing up to about the year of 1898. Mrs. Sophia WIng Pettey, who had always lived near the old house, wrote in 1903, "As a child I heard that after the house was raised and boarded that on account of war it was left; that the builders went away, where I never learned, and when they returned, rees had grown up to the rafters, probably on the lower side." This abandonment might have occurred during the Revolutionary War when the British were operating in the vicinity of Newport and Dartmouth. There is now standing in the vicinity of the old house a pear tree more than 150 years old and still in bearing condition.(8957)
Conflicting evidence states that he died in Dartmouth, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, possibly in 1771. In the stone wall, near the front of the house, is a large flat stone serving as a stile. In it is a deeply cut "B.W.--1771," none other than young Benjamin Wing, who with Joseph, were his only two sons. This may have been his gravestone.(8958)

Paternal line Y-chromosome DNA test-takers:
I have removed Benjamin Wing as a possible husband for Mary Devol-4 Potter. Nathaniel Potter, her husband, did not die until 1782, so I believe that she would not have married Benjamin Wing while Nathaniel was still alive.
Wing-80 and Wing-337 appear to represent the same person because: Same as merge for two Joseph Wings. (an error in identifying their parents has created duplicate profiles)
