Genealogically Defined

Jane was born 3rd April 1838 at St. Catherine, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England, the daughter of James Harding (plasterer)[1] and Elizabeth Harding formerly Derrett. Informant: James Harding (father) of 14 Park Street (Gloucester)[2]

On the 13th June 1859, Jane married Benjamin Micklewright at St. Thomas, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England. Benjamin Micklewright, 22, bachelor, Boiler maker, of Columbia Street (Gloucester), son of Thomas Micklewright (spade moulder) and Jane Harding, 21, spinster of Columbia Street (Gloucester), daughter of James Harding (plasterer). Witnessed by John Mitchell & Sarah Royston[1][3]

Jane's husband Benjamin died in 1885 at 11 Ellenthorpe Street, Poplar, Middlesex, England[4]

On the 24th March 1889, Jane married Joseph Jasper Campbell at St. Luke, Victoria Docks, Essex, England. Joseph Jasper Campbell, 44, bachelor, seaman of 4 Hope Terrace, Victoria Docks Road, son of Jasper Campbell (Shipwright) and Jane Micklewright, 48, widow, of 4 Hope Terrace, daughter of James Harding (builder). Witnessed by Stephen & Jane Holness[5]

Jane, aged 84 years, of 106 Liverpool Road, West Ham, Essex, widow of Jasper Campbell (Merchant Seaman) passed away 23rd July 1922 at Central Home, Leytonstone, Essex, England. cause of death: Suppurative ? Cystitis & Biliary Cirrhosis Liver. Informant B. Micklewright (son) of 106 Liverpool Road, Canning Town (Essex, England)[6].

Research Notes

Not found in 1921 Census. Not at 35 Peter Street, Canning Town, or at 106 Liverpool Street, Canning Town with her son Benjamin Micklewright. She is not with her daughters Jane Sinzig, Elizabeth Stone or Ellen Kelson. She was also not with her son Thomas James Micklewright. It is possible she was in a hospital or institution, but not found at the Central Home infirmary (formerly the Leyton Union Workhouse, later Langthorne Hospital) at Union Road (later Langthorne Road) where she died in 1922.
