Where did you enlist? Here in Boston, Massachusetts? Who enlisted you?

I don't know his name but a recruiting officer.

On what street was his office?

I can't recollect.

Where did you live at time you enlisted?

In Boston, Massachusetts on Cherry Street.

Where were you born?

In Dresden, Canada. I left there two years before the war broke out. I came here to Boston and lived here until I enlisted.

When were you discharged?

I served two years and six months. I was discharged at end of war.

Was it before President Lincoln was assassinated?

I don't know. I can't tell how long after the war he was killed before the war ended.
