our Regiment did go to after my enlistment when we left Boston Massachusetts. I knew our whole Regiment went on this "propeller" steamboat but I don't know whether we went to Florida, or South Carolina. I do not remember being at Jacksonville Florida - we were in

I do not remember telling that my First Sergeant was named Butler - I do not remember any Butler or William Butler in my Company.

On hearing those names read over I do now recall those names - I had forgotten them - but I do now think Captain Nutt was my Captain - and Lieutenant Phelps a Lieutenant. I do not remember any Sergeant Wilson - Taylor was my regular bunkmate. I did have a bunkmate for a little while named Harris but he got killed - There was a blind man named Harrison in Boston who made an affidavit for me about my being wounded but I do not know whether that Harrison was in the same Regiment I was in or not. He remembered me being in the army but I could not remember him being in the army at all.

I tried to make them the same as they were on that "duplicate" certificate that was sent me from Boston Massachusetts.

I was recruited at Detroit Michigan - and with other recruits was sent to New York and then Boston and so enlisted at Boston Massachusetts and just as soon as we got to Boston we were given uniforms and sent out to the Regiment. I had never been in Boston Massachusetts before that. Readville Massachusetts was the Camp where the Barracks was where we were drilled when I first went to Boston after enlistment - but we never discharged at Boston. Right after I was discharged I first went home to Canada - and then came back to New York, and was at Buffalo and Detroit - and
