complexion and about 21 or 22 years of age and was a good scholar. I recall nothing of him being sick or disabled in service.
I railroaded with him out of Toledo, Ohio. He was a BellTBD palace car porter and I was also a palace car porter. That was during the early eighties. We were on the Wabash and Lake Shore roads then but I later I run out of Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri for 15 years.
The last I heard and saw of him was in 1880 or 1881 at Toledo, Ohio.
We had a Henry Jackson a small man a private in Company B from Pennsylvania. I think he was from Philadelphia. I never saw him after the war, and didn't know him before.

DEPOSITION B
Case of James H. Jackson, No. 922,015
On this 10th day of July, 1906, at National Military Home, county of Grant, State of Indiana, before me, C.E. Paul, a Special Examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Eli Hall, who, being by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:
I am 69 years old; address National Military Home Indiana. Have been farming.
I served in Company B 55th Massachusetts Volunteer Colored Infantry from May 9 or 10, 1863 to August, 1865 as Private. I was raised in Mercer County, Ohio. We had only one James H. Jackson in our company and he was Sergeant and was from Adrian, Michigan. He was of light brown
