Biography

Jerusha Saxton, born in 1681, was the first child of Hannah Denison & her second husband Joseph Saxton. The location of her birth is uncertain; it may have been at Roxbury, Massachusetts, where her mother originated, or at Stonington, Connecticut.

Her Christening date was 2 Dec 1683, apparently at Roxbury, Massachusetts, where her mother was from ^[1].

Jerusha Saxton married three times:

First: Jan. 17, 1699/00 to Nehemiah Palmer II (bef.1677-1735), married by Nehemiah Palmer, J.P." in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. They had 9 children during the timespan through April 1721, all born at Stonington. Nehemiah Palmer died in 1735.

Second: 29 Dec 1735 James Dean (1674-1747), as his second wife; he died 22 Oct 1747.

Third: 12 Nov 1751 William Buell (1676-1763), as his third wife.

Jerusha (Saxton/Palmer) Dean died after 1751, the year of her third marriage to William Buell (see research notes below).

Research Notes: NOTE: "Barbour" did not double date the year of marriage. Did not change the marriage year in data pending review of "Denison Genealogy" which is listed as a source for this profile.^[2]

Jerusha Dean, "of Stonington, m[arried] William Bewell [sic.], Nov. 12, 1751" in Lebanon, New London County.^[3]

NOTE: DISCONNECTED William Buell as Jerusha's third husband. This profile, pertaining to the same William Buell, was was not properly constructed, and will be merged with Buell-41.

William Buell's third wife was Mrs. Jersuha Dean of Stonington.^[4]
