Sarah was born about 1785. She was the daughter of Abner Messenger and Abigail Pike. She passed away in 1839.

information for Sarah Elsie Messenger is often suppositional based on a couple of family histories and a few resources. What is known and what is supposed kind of get mixed up. One interesting phenomena of searches for Elijah Hardesty is a link back to the correct spouse, James Miller. I believe that Elijah Hardesty married Susannah/susan Messenger, daughter of Samuel Messenger and Maria Ashby Jackson Sarah married James Miller probably 29 Apr 1803. Her birthdate is more likely the earlier date found in sources (none original) of 1785 [Her first child was born in 1804, so 1791 birth is pretty unlikely]. And her birth location is more than likely Barkhamstead, Litchfield, Connecticut as her brother is born there the following year and she is married there. Notes by LC-H
