Biography

Abigail was a daughter of John and Hannah (Walker) Burt, born on 19 January 1744/5, apparently in Berkley, Massachusetts.^[1]

Abigail Burt of Berkley, Massachusetts, and Amaziah Richmond of Taunton, Massachusetts, married on 24 January 1765, after registering intentions at Berkley on 3 December 1764. The marriage probably occurred in Berkley, but it was recorded in Taunton, Massachusetts. Abigail was Amaziah's second wife. ^[1][2]

During the American Revolutionary War, Amaziah Richmond served several enlistments as a corporal between 1776 and 1778. Not long thereafter, the family removed to Barnard, Vermont. ^[1]

Abigail Richmond died in Barnard, Vermont, in 1820. Her husband died in Woodstock, Vermont, in November 1825.^[1]
