Biography
Peter Aldrich[1]was born April 4, 1648[1]at Braintree, Massachusetts.[1] His parents were George Aldrich[1]and his wife Catherine Seald.[1]
Moved to Mendon
Peter moved to Mendon with his parents. His father gave him one-third of his house lot.[1]
Peter, along with his brothers Joseph and John were among several others who signed an agreement with Rev. Joseph Emerson to be the minister at Mendon on December 1, 1669.[1]
Moved to Shelter Island, New York
At the time of King Philips War, Peter moved away from Mendon in 1675 and did not return at the end of the war.[1]He moved to Shelter Island, New York as indicated by his witness to a will, dated 1680.[1]
Marriage
In 1682 Peter married Mehitable Swazey, the daughter of John Swazey of Mattituck, Long Island, New York.[1]

- Gershom was born about 1682.[1]
- Jacob was born July 1, 1686 at Southold, Long Island. He married Bethiah Evans. His will dated at Southold, Long Island, Oct. 26, 1746 and probated Nov. 10, 1746. Children: Peter b.1715; Gershom b.April 4, 1717; Jacob b. 1722; Daniel; Stephen b.1739.[2][1]

I've been unable to find the death place for Peter Aldrich. In 1683, however he is on a rate list at Mattituck, Long Island.

I think we should change his death place to Long Island, Suffolk, Province of New York and leave a note in the biography about his death place being unclear, unless you can find a source for Shelter Island. Thanks.
