Jane Morrison Pomeroy is reported to have been born at Calais, Maine, ^[1] but she was almost certainly born at Saint James Parish, New Brunswick, ^{[2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]} 21 Mar 1830, ^[7] or 26 Mar 1831, ^{[1] [8]} the daughter of John Pomeroy and Nancy Galance; ^[1] died, 1915, and is buried in the Pomeroy Ridge Cemetery, Saint James. ^[8]

She married at St. Anne's Church, Calais, Maine, 23 Jun 1860, Urban H. Dowling. ^[9]
