An extensive search of contemporary records can find no document to substantiate that this person existed, to show any connection to her supposed husband Silent Bryant , or that she was mother of Eleanor Bryant Owens.
The first record of anyone named "Doniphan" in the Northern Neck area of Virginia was a man named Alexander Doniphan. His arrival in America is uncertain, but by about 1670 he was living in Old Rappahannock County and had married a woman named Amy. He married Margaret Mott in 1691. [1] His third wife was named Susannah. His 1716 will named wife Susannah, sons Mott and Robert, daughters Margaret, Elizabeth, and Anne, [2]
A duplicate of this profile (now merged) claimed, without source, that she was the daughter of Don Alphonse Doniphan (1600-1660) and Margaretta (Manzano) Doniphan (1605-). Lacking a response for sourcing these origins, these parents have been detached.
