Hannah (Williams) Jones was born in Glamorgan, Wales.
Hannah is sister to Mary Williams. After her husband Morgan Hopkins died, she and daughter Mary Hopkins went to assist Elias Jones and his remaining eight children after death of their wife and mother Mary. The family moved to America in 1856, joining the John A. Hunt wagon company in Iowa City, Iowa and traveling with them and the Hodgett wagon company and the Willie and Martin Handcart companies to Salt Lake City.
She married Elias Jones in 1856 in Swansea. He was the widow of her sister Mary.[1]
