I see proof that a Margaret Root married a Benjamin Stebbins in 1747 (Massachusetts: Springfield Vital Records), but not necessarily Benjamin Stebbins If she were married to him at his death, why is she not listed in his burial record? Also if she were married to Benjamin Stebbins before Thomas Bagg, why is she not listed as widow Stebbins at that marriage? - instead she is listed as Margaret Root.
