Database error 633, "USA too early" corrected April 18, 2017[3]
This Thomas Harrington is shown as "I" in some pedigrees. It is not something he would have used in his lifetime. It is unlikely that his son, Thomas Harrington, used "II" in his lifetime. At this time in Colonial America, Jr. and Sr. were used to distinguish two adult men with the same name in the same area - not necessarily father and son. Uncle and nephew or cousins no more than a year or so apart might also have been called Jr. and Sr. in contemporary records. When one of the pair dies, the suffix is dropped until needed again, so a Jr. may become a Sr. in his lifetime. ~ Noland-165 07:07, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
