Biography

Joseph Spaulding was born on October 25, 1646 in Chelmsford, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay, son of Edward Spaulding (1596–1670) and Rachel Unknown (~1622–1670).^[1]

Joseph (24) married Mercy Mary Jewell (17) (born on April 14, 1653 in Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts Bay; daughter of Thomas Jewell and Grissell Cary (Fletcher) Burge) on December 9, 1670 in Chelmsford. Their children were:

• Hannah Spalding (1666–1747)
• Lydia Spaulding (1678–1706)
• Eunice Spaulding (1685–1726)
• Nathaniel Spaulding (1687–1751)
