Biography
George Reade was born in 1648.[1]
Origin
George was definitely not the oldest child after the 1641 marriage of his parents (that was his sister Mildred).[2] Neither was he the oldest son (that was his brother Robert).[3] Therefore, George was born sometime between 1644 and 1654; splitting the difference for this profile at 1650. This date is a guess, please use it with caution.
He was probably born in Gloucester County, Virginia. George was probably a son of George Reade and Elizabeth Martiau.[4][1]
The Bay Mare
In 1665, Governor Berkeley gave George a bay mare.[1]
Death and Legacy
George died in 1686. (?)[citation needed] He is deceased when his mother, Elizabeth (Martiau) Reade (abt.1625-1696), writes her will.[5]

Is this the same George Reed/Reade that in 1658 transported Jonathan Prather and wife, Robert Mackay and wife, among others up the Chesapeake to Calvert County, MD? It doesn't seem likely given his socio-economic status except that the Prather/Prater family were also connected to a Malet family (Prather-72). Thanks!
