Biography

Thomas Jefferson Norman was born 19 January 1837 in Sullivan County, Tennessee to John Norman and Nanie Hicks.[1] He was the only child of Nancy, and of English descent.[citation needed]

Thomas fought in the US Civil War, Tennessee Light Artillery, Company E, 1st Regiment, where he lost a leg.[2]

The Normans were living in Sullivan County, Tennessee in 1880.[3] Thomas was farming, his eldest son, John, was working as a laborer. The household included Thomas and Nancy, and their children, John W, Joseph H, Samuel P, Walter G, James H, and Nancy R.

Thomas Norman and Sarah Marion were married 23 November 1891 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.[4]

Thomas and Sarah were farming in Sullivan County, Tennessee in 1900.[5] The home included Thomas, Sarah, and their son, George.

The Normans were in Sullivan County, Tennessee in 1910.[6] The household included Thomas, Sarah, and George. Thomas was farming.

Thomas and Sarah were living in Sullivan County, Tennessee in 1920.[7] George was still at home.

Thomas died of bronchial pneumonia 23 April 1924 in Kingsport, Sullivan, Tennessee.[8] He was buried in Arcadia Cemetery, Sullivan County, Tennessee.[8][2]
