Nancy was born in 1837 in Tennessee to Leonard Brightwell and his wife, Amanda Richardson.[1]
Nancy's father, Leonard, was farming in District 6, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1850.[1] In his household were his wife, Amanda and daughter, Nancy. Leonard's birthplace is listed as North Carolina, Amanda's Virginia, and Nancy's Tennessee. Leonard and Amanda could not read.
She married James Peyton Thompson in Tennessee and they soon left for Arkansas.[2]
Their children were Amanda, John, Sara, Ava Safrona, James,[3] Nancy and Thomas.
She remarried after his death to an unknown Prints and had one son, Robert, with him.[4]
