In 1475, an Instrument of Sasine of Master Alexander Urquhart of the lands, barony, sheriffship, and Castlehill of Cromartie under the sign and subscription of John Kemlock was recorded.[3]

In 1506, Thomas Urquhart, heir to Alexander Urquhart of Cromarty, received his Sasine under the sign and subscription of John Macon, notary public.[2][4]
