Abigail Cushing was born June 8, 1748 in Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She was the daughter of John Cushing III and Mary Cotton Cushing his first wife. Abigail was the second child of this name born to the couple. The first Abigail was born and died in 1737. [1]
She was mentioned in her father's will, "Abigail Cushing of said Scituate, a single woman."[2]
Abigail signed a will on September 16, 1815. She left her estate to her niece, Hannah P. Aylwin. It included a note that , "and as much by my honored father's will I was devised of all his household stuff - and some of the articles yet remain undisposed of I mean to include them in the bequest aforesaid particularly the clock standing in the entry." Hannah was also to be the executrix. [3]
Abigail died on October 22, 1824 in Scituate. She was unmarried and seventy-six years old. [4] Her niece Hannah Phillips Aylwin was the executrix of Lucy's estate. [5]
