Biography

Cornet Francis Peabody, son of Isaac Peabody (1648-1727) and his first wife Sarah, was born in Topsfield Massachusetts on 1 Dec 1694.[1]

He was in military service in 1711.

Francis married Dorothy (Perkins) Peabody (abt.1695-1771) on 27 Jan 1714/15, in Topsfield, Massachusetts,[2] and had the following children:

  1. Francis, b. 21 Sep 1715
  2. Samuel, b. 4 Dec 1716, died young.
  3. Mary, b. 10 Aug 1718, m. Samuel Conant.
  4. Dorothy, b. 27 Mar 1720, m. David Webb.
  5. Samuel, b. 30 Jan 1722.
  6. Nathaniel, b. 7 Apr 1723.
  7. William, b. 11 Mar 1724.
  8. Isaac, b. 3 Apr 1727.
  9. Daniel, b. 18 Oct 1728.
  10. Bimsley, b. 2 Sep 1731.
  11. Hannah, b. 23 Feb 1733, m. Samuel Cole.
  12. Stephen, b. 25 Apr 1735.
  13. Andrew, b. 14 Jan 1736, died young.


Francis died 23 April 1769, at age 75, in Middleton, Massachsuetts.[3] He is buried in the Peabody Family Burying Ground in Middleton, Essex County, Massachusetts.[4]
