Joan (Havard) Awbrey was born in Wales.

Joan, born about 1559, is the daughter of William Havard and Anne Vaughan Havard. She married Sir Edward Awbrey.

They had 11 children:

Lady Joan’s will (copy not found) indicates she had been a widow for 15 years fixing her death year as 1635.[1]

The Awbrey/Havard Connection

Sir Reginald Awbrey, Sir Peter Gunter and Sir Walter Havard were knights in Bernard Newmarche’s force that conquered part of Wales.

Sir Reginald’s sister, Joan, married Sir Peter Gunter. They had a son, William and a daughter Anne who married Sir John Havard in the early 1100s. [2]

I think the spelling of the last name is incorrect. Should be Havard according to The Illustrated History and Biography of Brecknockshire from the Earliest Times to the Present Day: http://books.google.com/books?id1gQVAAAAQAAJ&dqWilliam+Havard+of+Tredomen&source=gbs_navlinks_s See http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Havard-11, we can just merge these two profiles, as I believe they are the same person.
