Research Notes

[Noted: Elizabeth Knowlton as head of household in 1810 Census of Isle au Haut, Maine]

"... For years the New Englanders had sailed from the harbour of Massachusetts on their annual spring voyage to the local fishing banks. In 1761, a vessel carrying 18 adults and 10 children first dropped anchor in what is now Chester Harbour. The early settlers were the first to receive grants of land in the newly formed township, to which they gave the name of Shoreham. A blockhouse was built to protect the village and its settlers from attack. It still stands today as a summer residence. ..." https://www.canadiangeographic.ca/article/tribute-chester-nova-scotia

She probably wasn't born in Nova Scotia. There weren't too many English in Nova Scotia in 1753. She likely moved there in the 1760s.

I agree with your observation. Have changed it to MA uncertain.

I found a tree that said Northport, Maine, but that is even more unlikely.
