Selon certaines fiches dur Familysearch Élie GODARD LAPOINTE, fils de Joseph LAPOINTE et de Pélagie LAFRANCE, serait né vers 1870 au Canada Français. Cette date est confirmée par les Recensements de l'Ontario, mais, au printemps 1871, Élie est dit âgé de 7 mois, né en août 1870 en Ontario" [1], et en 1891, il est dit "âgé de 20 ans, né en Ontario". Il vit avec sa mère Pélagie, veuve de 60 ans. [2]

Le 27 juillet 1891, à St-Albert, Comté de Russell, Ontario, il épouse Clarinthe BOUDRIAS, fille d'Antoine BOUDRIAS et de Nathalie LABERGE[3] Clarinthe est nommée "Victoria" dans l'Acte. Leurs enfants connus sont:
