Biography

Susan C. Hankinson b. Feb 20, 1834; married Wiiliam, son of Craig Haggan 1855; and 3 sons and 4 daughters. He died a Christian man and a farmer in Malahide Feb 13, 1890, aged 60.^[1]

In the mid 1830's to late 1840's, severe epidemics of diphtheria, cholera, typhoid, and tuberculosis swept through the country. Three of Kenneth Hankinson's daughters died within a three month span from diphtheria. (Haggan, Ida Louise;^[2]

Kenneth buried them on his farm and thus had started the Hankinson Cemetery which, today, is incorporated as the Berean Baptist Cemetery. Maintained by Township of Malahide.
